My Reason to Relay

Tomorrow I'll be participating in my 3rd Relay For Life event since Lauren was diagnosed with cancer. The first year I had no idea what to expect and I've never been so moved to see so many cancer survivors walking the track. You see everything from babies in strollers to elderly folks in wheelchairs, all with one thing in common...they are fighters! Last year, Lauren was the guest speaker and there wasn't a dry eye when she was finished. Sometimes I can't even believe what we've been through the past 3 years, it all seems so surreal. Relay gives me a time to reflect and remember those who have lost the battle, but also celebrate with the survivors and fighters.

So my reason to Relay is my daughter. She is my hero and I'm so happy that God chose me to be her mommy.
