She's home

Lauren's home from the hospital and doing well. Although she is tired and sore, her incredible spirit remains strong. Thanks to all who visited the hospital, sent cards, flowers, food and called to check on her. We are so grateful for each one of you!

Surgery #3

Today my sweet Lauren underwent another surgery. This time to remove cancerous lymph nodes around the thyroid area and in between the carotid artery and windpipe. Obviously a very delicate surgery. We have changed surgeons to an "adult" doctor who has lots of experience with thyroid cancer. She is at Christ Hospital, which is much different than Children's Hospital, but great still the same. She's had lots of visitors, friends from school, her favorite teacher ever, even her dad came this time.

I hope I see the light at the end of this very long tunnel very soon.
